After the huge success of Aakash tablet, DataWind’s hopes high for the UbiSlate 7
DataWind India has released its online tablet a week ago! It has earlier successfully managed to sell out all units of its world’s cheapest tablet Aakash. However, the company states that the Aakash’s upgrade version, UbiSlate 7, is still offered for pre-booking. According to an estimate, usually 8,000 tablets PC’S are retailed in India on everyday basis. With Aakash’s launch in the market, the tablet industry is expecting a massive fillip.
2,500 Rupees is the estimated price of this Android based tablet. With a guaranteed delivery in just seven days, the online users had a chance to book it from their official site. The company announced the presence of around 30,000 tablets online for pre-booking. Although the exact booking number of tablets is not yet confirmed by the website, a remarkable response is the evident linked with DataWind’s closing the pre-order booking just within a week.
UbiSlate 7 will be sold at Rs. 2,999 and is scheduled to launch in the upcoming January. A good news for all buyers-to-be! It is coming with an advanced Android operating system version! With this it offers you an upgraded battery system as well! The buyers will also get a Wi-Fi and 3G with SIM operation extending to the voice calls. With all these extra features it just costs you 499 Rupees more than Aakash.
“DataWind first wants to build its name in the education sector before diversifying and catering to corporates”, said CEO DataWind, Suneet Singh Tuli.
In an earlier report, it was mentioned the DataWind had put up around 30,000 Aakash tablets online for sale. Now with such figures coming in to the notice, it is clear that this tablet is speedily lapped by educators and students.
The company is expecting a huge response to UbiSlate 7 in the next month, considering the level of response Aakash got while its launch. In the meantime, DataWind has not provided any update regarding Aakash: when it will be offered gain! And when it will hit the market stores!
