FrederickJames.com is offering a Bernie Madoff iPad Cover, a case made from the Ponzi schemer’s pants.
Most people would not consider keeping their iPads safe with Bernie Madoff, the greatest fraudster and Ponzi schemer in history. But would they keep it in his pants?
John Vaccaro, founder of FrederickJames.com thinks that people would. He has designed iPad covers made from the fraudster’s trousers.
FrederickJames.com sells “fashion iPad covers in rescued and vintage cashmere, silk, rayon, (and) wool.” Now he has released ‘The Bernie Madoff’, a collection of 31 iPad covers made from Bernie Madoff’s pants, including trousers from J.Crew, Banana Republic and Ralph Lauren.
“There are a lot of collectors out there who would like to own a quirky piece of history, even the worst kind. I would have been first in line to own a piece from the Dillinger or Bonnie & Clyde era,” said Vaccaro.
The founder bought 16 pairs of Madoff pants during an auction last year in autumn. Madoff iPad covers will cost customer between $250 and $350, almost half the price of an iPad itself. Someone paid $200 for Bernie Madoff’s underwear, so one can be sure that these would sell easily.
These tablet covers are one of the oddest iPad accessories the public has seen to date. Others include the ‘etch a sketch’ iPad cover, the ‘icade’; a video arcade cover, and fake crocodile skin cover, among others.
