Dell Launches Streak Pro in China, India to Wait

Dell released its first tablet in China as a first, other countries like India will have to wait.

Dell has finally unveiled its 10.1 inch Android-based tablet in China. The Dell Streak 10 Pro will compete directly with other top-end tablets such as the iPad 2 and other 10 inch ones in the market.

Currently, the release of the Streak Pro is only limited to China, but the company promises that it will be released in other countries soon. India is one of the countries in the waitlist.

While talking to the Indian press, a Dell spokesperson has confirmed the launch of this tablet in India but refused to provide a particular date. But the spokesperson hinted that the Streak 10 Pro could be available by the end of this year or by early next year.

This long wait could be worth it for Indian customers; the new Dell tablet has solid specifications. The Dell Streak 10 Pro is packed with an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor with a 1GHz speed. It comes with a 1GB RAM for speed, 16GB of internal storage with a slot that can support up to 32GB memory.

The Dell Streak has a 5MP camera on the rear and a 2MP one on the front for video conferencing. The OS used for the new tablet is the Android Honeycomb 3.1 with Dell’s patented Stage user interface.

It has been priced at 2,999 yuan (Rs 20,600) in China, whereas the iPad 2 costs 3,688 yuan (Rs 25,300).

With such competitive pricing and up-to-date features, the Dell Streak is surely expected to be a hit in all the countries it is launched in.
